I dare say there's not a huge shortage, in respective sense of players who made a Cup Final with 3 different teams, recently Hossa, Pronger and Recchi have done the deed.

And in the modern era trades and switching of teams is coupled with more variety in Cup Champs ( only one team has won twice in the past 10 years ).

Some older marks:

Coffey made Final with 4 teams, Oil, Pens, Wings and Flyers
Claude Lemieux won with 3 different teams and made 5 Finals

Brooklyn
Mark Recchi and Joe Nieuwendyk both won 3 Cups with 3 teams.

Petr Sykora went to the finals with NJ (twice), Anaheim, and Pittsburgh

Glen Hall:

- Toronto (1956)
- Chicago (1961*, 1962 and 1965)
- St. Louis (1968)

Brian Propp:

- Philadelphia (1980, 1985 and 1987)
- Boston (1990)
- Minnesota (1991)

I feel bad for Propp - he lost in the Stanley Cup finals five times on three different teams. He was the underdog five times, against the Islanders dynasty, Oilers dynasty (x3) and Lemieux's Penguins. Don't understand why Ciccarelli has a spot in the Hall over Propp. (Don't think either is qualified, but I'd elect Propp first - better offensive peak, significantly better two-way play, better as a playoff performer, despite Ciccarelli's advantage in longevity).

Esa Tiikanen:

- Edmonton (1987*, 1988* and 1990*)
- New York Rangers (1994*)
- Washington (1998)

Easy to forget that he was a member of the Capitals.

Ken Linseman:

- Philadelphia (1980)
- Edmonton (1983, 1984*)
- Boston (1988)

Phil Esposito:

- Chicago (1965)
- Boston (1970*, 1972* and 1974)
- NY Rangers (1979)

Larry Hillman:

- Detroit (1956)
- Boston (1958)
- Toronto (1964*, 1967*)

Great work as always Pnep.

Rhett Wharrener was a big surprise! Think he owes a thank-you card to Vanbiesbrouck, Hasek and Kiprusoff.

Is it possible to filter the list to only include players who played, say, more than half of the games played during the relevant playoffs? For example, I'm not sure if Brett Hull should really take credit for the 1986 Flames' trip to the finals seeing as he only played 2 games that spring. (Same with Vadnais and his 1 game during the 1968 Canadiens' Stanley Cup victory).

Haha, yeah...

Maybe it was the Warrener curse that held all those teams for a loss. Like Conklyn.

I'll Phil Esposito on the 79 Rangers and 65 Hawks is extremely forgettable, not so much that those teams made the Final ( though try asking about that 79 Rangers team ) but the fact he made the final with those teams.

I know I had this feeling he played on the Rangers in nhis twilight years in the 80s....

i came here to say marty gelinas, which pnep has already pointed out.

a very weird career arc. he won the cup as a rookie who was drafted immediately ahead of roenick, selanne, and brind'amour and had star potential. then he fails to live up to expectations, gets waived even, and looks like he's playing his way out of the league. then he has a very long and productive career mostly as a grinder, with a short peak as a 30 goal scorer on a bad vancouver team. three more trips to the finals, but never wins another one. that must be a weird feeling, to retire after a grizzled 20 year career and three very hard fought but unsuccessful runs to the finals, but having won the ultimate prize half a lifetime ago.

it was weird to see brett hull on that list. it took me a while to remember what that third team was.

Speaking of Hasek, he's made 4 finals with 3 different teams, although he was only a starter for 2 of them.

The only guys on the list who weren't picked among the 1500+ players in the All-Time Draft sub-board drafts last year. And none of them deserving of being selected.
