I haven't played an actual game since I was 13 and then I got really sick one year and missed try-outs and never played again. This year for some reason I really got the itch to go play again. I started going to the outdoor rinks 3-4 times a week after christmas and last night played on a rec team that my buddy plays on. Went much better than I could have hoped.
After playing D my whole life they threw me on wing. I probably looked like the young stars game out there because I kept passing everytime I had the puck, I didn't want to be the new guy that shows up and hogs the puck. It worked out well because I got lots of rebounds and finished the night with 3 goals and an assist. I forgot how physically draining it is skating up and down the ice for an hour but I also remembered how much fun this game is. That is going to be the first of many games to come now!
