He seemed to have a thing for Boyd tonight during the Finland game, I figured it would have been Toews with the way hes been raving pre tournament.

Sounds to me like his early tourney D-man is Bourdon.

This could be the closest race for McGuire love EVER. Any one of these guys could achieve monster status by the end of this tournament, and perhaps even have plays named after them ("That's a double-Dion! He got Phaneufed!").

    I say we place bets.

Well,i think it's down to production of couse.Right now. With Pogge at 1-0.....................he's pretty safe, sweet nothings will be sung into his ear until that time. Now put a dissapointing performance in there by him and whammo!!........maybe someone takes that mantle.

I personally thought Pierre wet his pants with excitement every time Andrew Cogliano touched the puck.

The newly revised Pierre McGuire drinking game

    Drink when he says:

    Phaneuf
    Dion
    Parise
    Monster
    Whammo!
    el-Kabong
    Real Deal
mentions a Staal brother who isn't playing
reminds us who wanted Downie in the draft
giggles at any point during the game

    please add your own

If I played the Piere drinking game I would be drunk by the end of the first period and past out. I hope there is good security outside of the Canadian dressing room because I don't want McGuire sneeking in on the boys when they are showering.

I think his boy this tournament will be Bourdon or Staal. If Canada doesn't make it the gold metal then he will jump on the Johnson's bandwagon.

It's too hard to tell after that game. He was all over everyone. One not mentioned yet was Comeau.

"He's a big game player. 3 straight memorial cup appearances...."

"He played on a line with Yashin and Satan during the pre-season. Guess who was doing the forechecking on that line!"

And several more odes to his speed and physicallity.

Pierre seems to like Kessel quite a bit.

However, I think that Mark Staal will be the winner when it is all said and done.

    "That's a bogey on the official's part."
    "Two minutes for being strong!"
A stick breaks and Gord eggs Pierre on only to get a monosyllabic reply

(all in good fun, I actually like Pierre  )

Staal gets my vote. Both he and Miller won't stop, which is a good thing if you're a Ranger fan.

When ever he says the word "Dive" in any shape or form(Dived, Diving, Diver, etc.) take a shot.

Double Shots if it's against the Russians.

Your liver will hate you forever.

Did anyone happen to catch Bobs burn of Pierre when Pierre was going on about some player reminding him of this other player and Gord chimes in saying"Pierre, you're always saying some player reminds you of another".Then Bob chirps"Pierre, you remind me of Dick Vitale"

I think it was the best part of the night.

It seems to me he loves Bourdon, Staal, Pogge, Boyd, Comeau. But he loves Downie the most.
