He was great for Finland at the worlds. One of our top defenseman. Good signing.
E: Likes to hit, solid defensively and will bring some offense too. You are gonna like his clean and hard hits!
For real though, from the little I've read, he's a 2-way defenseman with strong leadership abilities. He was KalPa's #1 defenseman last year based on TOI, he was playing nearly 24 minutes a night.
Could you see him making the Pens out of camp?
Maybe, anything is possible.
Why not? Not going to pretend I know who he is or what he's capable of, but we could use some found money at D.
This organization is desperate for young D talent so I really like moves like this. No risk.
He was brought in to teach Olli some physicality.
Precursor to a Letang trade?!
Skimming over highlight videos the kid got a rocket, and can actually get it on net.
That alone should get him into the show...
He also can join the rush and has some fairly nifty moves for a Dman.
Haven't seen any videos of him blowing dudes up or anything though.
Some one give me the cliff notes on Cough medicine.
Oh so he's what Olli should have developed into. Cool.
24. So he's NHL ready.
Is he better than Bengsston?
His footwork and first 3 steps are just... Awful. I really dont mind him as much as others. But you'd think footwork issues and initial burst could be worked on.
5'11" isnt that a little short for a dman?
If you're still living in the 90s yeah.
Ya I guess overall the average would be a bit taller, but not by much. There are and have been a decent amount that are under 6 ft.
Enstrom, Spurgeon, Krug, Ellis, Goligoski, Karlsson
Boyle, Rafalski, Timonen, Borque
You’re forgetting this board’s favorite player, Kris Letang....
I’ve heard that size isn’t everything
