If we learned anything it's that we learned nothing about Nic Petan. We know what we have in Lindholm. No one here is saying he's a bum. Yeah he's not top offensive player, but he certainly passes as a role player? What can we say about Petan? Role player? Offensive talent? NHLer?

I don't know. Lindholm is exactly the kind of player Babcock loves. A talentless gudpro that "stands in the right spot". Polak was 100% right.

One of those things that will never be known for sure (Lindholm as healthy scratch). I look at it as Gauthier going from healthy scratch to 4th line wing to 4th line centre. Lindholm went from 4th line (even 3C for a brief spell IIRC) centre to 4th line winger. Opposite directions to me.

Petan may develop into a better NHLer. And he was at a lower CAP hit. It was a good trade as far as I can see. Lindholm did nothing for Winnipeg either. To me it was a no brainer.

Lindholm is not a good player. The trade was for Petan(an NHLer) and open up a spot for Trevor Moore. It was a good trade.
