    Ovechkin...emphasis on the echkin.

I think Ovechkin is going to be one of the most complete players in the league during his career. The kid can do it all.

Ovechkin. No doubt. I see a very Federov-esq future for him. Maybe with even a bit more offense.

He really is probably the most complete prospect I have ever seen. Offense, defense, skating, stickhandling, shooting... he does it all very very well

Ovechkin is the complete package. Everyone talks about his offensive skills, have you seen him hit? God damn! And he read the play good too, so he's a good player in his own zone when he can be bothered to show up down there :)

    Hahahaha. :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

Yeah, Ovechkin's more complete than most NHLers... very different from Brule. Maybe Brule will dominate and score more goals, but he's not got as good a two-way game, not quite as much hockey sense, footspeed or stickhandling. Plus, Ovechkin really was ready for the NHL toward the middle of his draft year, Brule needs about 2-3 more years. I'd say they're neck-and-neck as far as hitting goes.

What they said. They're both complete players IMO but Ovechkin does it better. No question. Ask Tootoo, Pitkanen, Ruutu and Gonchar about Ovechkin's hitting. :yo:

You're kidding right? Federov is one of the few players in the league who has earned that big fat deal he signed with Anaheim. If I had a choice between Sergei Federov or Jeremy Roenick in Philadelphia, it would be Feds. I was kind of hoping that when Eric was being shopped around, the potential deal with Detroit would have been made and we would have received Federov. Man, I could just picture a line with Federov and Gagne. Talk about speed and skill.......

He just won the Hart, has been in the selke running (not sure if he has won it) and has played defense and centre ice in the same season, sometimes in the same game.

This is a stupid comparision i mean Brule is nothing compared to Crosby and there are people who have Ovekchin above Crosby....

Quite possibly one of the stupidest comments I've ever seen on this board, and that's saying something.

Ovechkin is a tank. He can not only throw hits but absorb them very well, he's just extrlemly strong on his skates. You can't really find a more complete forward prospect than Ovy.
From the little I saw of Brule, he can throw some nice hits too, especially for a small guy, but I have seen VERY little of him.

haha...when he wants to be he may be the most complete player in the league...the only problem is he tends to lack the desire to play with 100% effort every game.

look...I have never seen either player on the ice. Thats the reason I asked. Ovechkin went 1st, Brule will probably go 2nd-3rd. Didnt realize I was that far off on my question. I will try better next time. :shakehead

Brule could go 6th just as easily as he could go 2nd. He defenitely wont go first.

Didn't Federov win the Hart in 1994 or something? If I'm right, that's 11 years ago. Hardly constitutes as yesterday.

I'd like Brule. But he's a step down from Ovechkin.

Maybe not on everyone's plate, because Brule does display some intangibles...

    But, I don't think it's very close.

I don't think it's that lop-sided of a comparison. It's quite clear though that most people pick Ovechkin.
