Ovi is my second-favourite player (behind McDavid) and I think both teams decline.

I actually don't think McDavid and Ovechkin could co-exist productively. Not necessarily because of egos, but just because Ovechkin needs a center who is more deferential and would pass to him at every opportunity. Connor is more of a shooter than, say, a Backstrom, and loves to have the puck on his stick and make his own plays - without necessarily deferring to anyone.

This would be a terrible move for both teams, but especially for Edmonton.
