Ovechkin scored his 8th goal of the season yesterday. That is already as much as he scored last year in RSL. Obviously he progresses.

Of the only 5 snipers who have more goals than him right now, two are former NHLers: Krivokrasov and Kovalenko.

Edmonton fans will appreciate that ahead of Ovechkin, is Aleksei Mikhnov, who has 9 goals. A 17th overall selection of 2000, Mikhnov is playing for Novosibirsk, a remote place in Russia. He weight 104 kg and is 196 cm tall, which gives pretty impressive numbers when you convert it in the british system...

The first overall RSL points (21) and goal (13) leader is Sergei Mozyakin, the 2002 Columbus 9th round pick ( 263th). Born in 1981, he looks small ( 179 cm and 74 kg) but some reported he gained some pounds lately.

It won't matter until Mikhnov comes to North America. From what I've read, he seems very eager to come over and I hope that it will be next year.
That said, he's really turned it around this year and we all hope that he can be the power forward that Isbister should be.
