Based on what? Pure points? Standard categories? One year, limited keeper or dynasty league? Without context, it's impossible to objectively rate him...

In my H2H dynasty salary league, Evander Kane (4th) ranks higher, as does Tom Wilson (9th) due to their better peripheral numbers - G, A, PPP, SHP, PIMs, Hits and Blocks. Ovechkin ranks 17th looking at current totals. In a deep keeper format Ovechkin is less valuable as an aging asset. That's without even looking at his cap hit and factoring that in. Wilson's insignificant cap hit means I can pay more big name players like P Kane, Lucic and Quick. This means that Ovechkin is not a top 20 asset in my eyes, relative to my league. I'd be happy to have him on my roster, but I wouldn't trade anything of note to acquire Ovechkin for my team.

But in a one year re-draft without a salary cap, dependent on the scoring system Ovechkin can easily be the most valuable player in the league. Goals 3, assists 2, SOG 0.2, Hits 0.1, PPG 2, PPA 2, PIMs 0.4 and Blocks 0.1 are some scoring formats I've seen that heavily favor Ovechkin in a 1 year format.
