Some of you guys really hate the Caps. I can't bring myself to do it - probably because we haven't been rivals for very long and we haven't really been good at the same time or had any playoff showdowns. Vegas is a good story but enough is enough.

I don't hate the Caps(though I dislike Tom Wilson a lot) and Vegas is Neutral(as far as my feelings on them). Either team winning won't upset me nor will they thrill me(though Ovy lifting the Cup would be great to see)..

What I really hate, though....is your Avy.

But to each his own.

Yeah you can get exemptions. He's played 34 regular season and 8 playoff games, he'll probably get an exemption though it'll be moot if he plays in a SCF game as was said anyway.

Technically Mike Rupp was a Devils draft pick, but he also wasn’t, as the Islanders drafted him first.

Derek Engelland from Vegas is also a Devils draft pick.

Did I ever tell you how much I HATED Willie Mitchell and was glad we traded him away? What a long career he had for a terrible boat anchor player. I remember how bad LA looked in the 2014 SCF, every time he was out on the ice. They were lucky he was one of their few anchors.

It's just too bad the guy we traded him for (Sean O'Donnell) was an absolute bust.

Sean O'Donnell single-handedly cost us a Cup, and Mitchell won his Cup against us in 2012. Ironic.

O'Donnell was so bad from his first game here.

O'Donnell and Mitchell were basically the same player, on O'Donnell was 29 years old then and a vet, while Willie Mitchell was like 23 at that time. O'Donnell was probably the better player by just a little bit, but I'd liken his time here to McDonagh's time with the Bolts so far. Only I think McDonagh is a much better player than O'Donnell ever was. O'Donnell somehow played in the NHL until he was 40 years old. He's also currently a terribly, terribly bland intermission analyst for the Kings.

I just remember O'Donnell making a huge screw up in that playoff that cost us a crucial goal, and we lost. O'Donnell has been one of my least favorite players ever since.

I remember laughing at him still being the league at 40 years old and wondering why teams were still signing him. He was absolutely worthless.

Look at his ATOI though, the year after we had him. He was playing 24:50 a night on Boston, who won their division that year. Hal Gill was second on that team in TOI! I was predicting Boston's impending doom for a while that season. Then they went out with a bang in the first round to a Montreal team that was only in the playoffs because Jose Theodore had a Hart Trophy season.

We squashed them in 5 games the next year, but O'Donnell wasn't playing. He must have been injured.

This wait till Monday for the finals is insane. The nhl teases us with multiple games every night in the 1st round and then this crap :sarcasm:

Meh. I am more excited for the awards show.

I am ready for the season to end and the offseason to begin.

The two weeks in June/July that have the awards show, draft, and free agency is going to be pretty fun.

July 1st is on a Sunday, so no procrastinating at work refreshing lol

Why the hell do they 4 two day breaks scheduled between games for this series?
It’s stupid.

It’s becoming clear that the season is probably ending too early. My proposal is to push back the ending of the regular season one week. It’s still 82 games, but it’s played over one additional week. People are always complaining about the condensed schedule, so add on one more week for the same amount of games.

Then the SCF would probably start around the 1st of June and end around the 14th-15th if it goes the distances. Especially if they play the 7 games over 14-15 night and not 7 games over 17 nights, like this stupid format that they wanna drag out.

I know it won't happen, but I'd be fine with them lopping some games off the regular season schedule. You'd have less back-to-backs and hopefully fresher teams as a result.

That would be nice. And also get rid of that mandatory 1 week of for all teams at different times. Should just give everyone and extended break at the same time at certain points. Like maybe give the players more time off for christmas or somethin
