I think Vegas can definitely handle the Caps so I'm preparing for the expansion team to win the cup aha
Everyone said that they would finally be playing a vastly superior team in Winnipeg and they would lose...they wind up winning in 5.

It’s quite fascinating to see people still hedging on the golden knights as if they haven’t proven all year and now straight to the finals that they are practically unbeatable. This is not to downplay Washington or insinuate they have no chance, but it’s pretty clear that Vegas is and should be the heavy favorite here. But it seems a lot of people still can’t wrap their head around it, or in some cases just hate hem so much that they refuse to acknowledge how good they are.

It amazes me so many people are quick to paint Ovie as a poor playoff performer just because the team has tended to choke its opportunities away. He's almost a PPG in 116 playoff games, that's pretty damn impressive for a guy who hadn't made it past the 2nd round in his career until this year.

The Caps can definitely win, anything is possible as we've seen from these playoffs. Holtby is playing great right now so the battle between him and Fleury will be awesome to watch.

I think that Vegas' speed and forecheck will be tough for the Caps to contain. I do hope the Caps win though, I really want Ovi to win the cup

I think the Vegas story has been pretty awesome and it would be cool for them to finish it off with a championship, but now that Ovi has actually made it this far I think I want him to win it more. I just don’t think they have that good of a chance against this Vegas team.

First time in a long time that I’ll be kind of happy no matter who wins.

Not quite that bad just yet, but this should really bring them back down to earth a bit. Yzerman didn't really do an amazing job this year, like everyone wants us to believe. Girardi was not needed, Andrej Sustr isn't really worse than him. McDonagh looked like a broken down jalopy, that's wheels fell off right in the D-zone. That's the only place I ever noticed him for most of the playoffs.

I already went over about 4-5 players that they desperately need to be rid of next year.

Girardi, Callahan, Coburn, especially the first two. If they can get rid of those two, that would be great for them. I will be surprised if more than one of them isn't there next year and wouldn't be the least bit surprised if all 3 of them were back next year. Pierre thinks Callahan wins you games, but hopefully for them their GM and management don't agree. Girardi and Callahan shouldn't be on contending teams, especially not at their current cap hits. They should be playing on rebuilding tanking teams, if anywhere in the NHL.

McDonagh should make them better, but he might be a waste of cap space for them and was the defenseman version of Michael Grabner for us for the Bolts this year, particularly in the playoffs.

Sergachev should be playing more than guys like Girardi. The **** is the matter with Jon ''Elite head coach'' Cooper? Sergachev averaged a little more than 12 minutes per game these playoffs.

No wonder Hedman looks so old already, has to carry around hundreds of pounds of useless plods on their D.

That reminds me :

F**** YOU, McDONUT!!!

I'll take Vegas in 6, can't root for that shit bag Wilson and it lets all the Caps fans cry at home realizing the cup being raised by another team in their building will be the closest they ever get.

Now this is rare.

Haven't seen you post here in quite awhile.

Where you've been?

Oh and for the record, I disagree with you.

I think the Capitals...CRAP or not...have a good shot at pulling it off in the Finals.
Was worried he was mugged on his trip here to NYC, never to be heard from again.

Also again last night with the stupid will he or won't he pick up the trophy garbage. I can't stand this stupid, fake superstition. No other sport does this absolute nonsense.

Did you hear the attending crowd's "Gasp" when he touched it? Hilarious.

Yup and there was some clown in Winnipeg screaming you just jinxed it too. Such stupidity. You work so hard to get this far, pick it up, take a team photo, celebrate in the locker room and move on. No other league promotes these trophies as a bad thing to touch like the NHL does.

The Penguins winning back to back cups officially killed the don’t touch the trophy thing

Stevens picked up the trophy all 3 times we won. We actually lost the 2 other times they didn't pick it up lol but there never has been a legit don't touch the trophy thing. I really don't know how this garbage even started.

OV waiting 12 years to get to the Stanley Cup Final only to be rolled by an expansion team put together by his old GM is the most Washington thing that could possibly happen.

I think we're a little past the same old Caps meme at this point. If they lose they lose but it won't be lolworthy barring something ridiculous like blowing a 3-0 lead in the series or a big lead in Game 7. Vegas destroyed two veteran playoff teams and one of the supposed best teams in hockey, they absolutely could win on merit.

I prefer Washington just to see Ovechkin finally get a Cup, but I'd be fine with Vegas winning too. It's going to be a great story either way.
