As it turned out, Devils came out with the more favorable matchup.

I don't care what anyone says. They were NOT beating Boston.

Boston was beatable, because their depth isn't amazing . Look at the lightning's bottom six vs. the bruins. Those are quality players. Tampa is scary deep on d and up front.

A major determining factor will be our secondary scoring vs. theirs. A grim prognosis. With that said, Keith could steal a game. He has the ability to do so.

Kinky is the KEY to this series. If he continues his strong play, Devils have an excellent shot at advancing.

It isn't a good one. You keep acting like we were lucky and didn't earn it

No I wasn't.

Where do you get this from?

I was saying that, based on how we saw Florida end the season via RUNNING THE TABLE(5 straight wins).

And I was thinking "Damn. It's a good thing the Devils took care of business against Toronto".

Why are you so combative against me all of a sudden?

Why is our secondary scoring a grim prognosis? If Wood Zacha Maroon is as good as they were against the Caps, Tampa is going to have their hands full.

Tampa led the league in goals & their offense goes far beyond their superstars. They can be carried by Johnson, Gourde and others if need be. We don't have the answers as of yet. We are an up and coming team. That's why I'm not optimistic.

You're kind of underestimating OUR secondary scoring though. Tampa has nine forwards with double-digit goals (not including the traded Namestinkov, but including Miller who has 10), we have 10. The main difference between us goalscoringwise is they get more offense from the blueline and they have more high-end first-liners.

He is also ignoring that Vasy has not been good lately. If he shits the bed, Tampa is in a lot of trouble.

Apologies if this was discussed ad nauseum, but was the general consensus here cool with resting the last game or should we have gunned for better position, home ice and maybe more favorable matchup?
I wanted the highest seed possible, instead we're the eighth seed. Tampa is very powerful. I would have felt a little more confident against Boston. Pittsburgh would have been fun.

I think resting was fine. With the way teams are playing, I'm not sure who would be a good matchup.

Hard to assume how the series plays out in this sense. I think it's fair to say it's going to be:

Hall's line against Point + Hedman.

Zajac's + Greene-Vatanen against Stamkos/Kucherov.

Zacha's line against Johnson's line.

How those match-ups and special teams play out is going to decide the series.

Then there will be not much ice time for Hall line lol

And lol at Boston, went all-in against florida and failed
