Puck possession is key. The reason Chicago can do that is they have 2 lines that don't have cement shoes on one of their forwards and their defense moves into the zone with them instead of holding back in the neutral zone until puck possession is back in our hands.

Russo stated today in one of his blog posts that we run the same systems as every team in the league, and dump and chase is just what the NHL has become. Also stated that players are told to try and skate it in and gain zone, and if there isn't anything there dump. They may be told that, but I honestly see little attempt to try and gain zone. Dumping it in feels like a mindset right now for these fellas.
