Trading him before the results of the investigation are complete, to get something out of it, could be seen that way. It also sends a message to Karlsson that if he wants to stay, that issue is resolved. If it's proven she did it, Hoffman would have even less value. Good on the Sharks for scooping an asset cheaply, presuming that any issues can be worked out later.
