so we arent searching for this years from now

According to CapFriendly, Oshie’s deal includes a no trade clause in all eight years of the contract: A 15-team no trade list in the first four years of the contract and a 10-team no trade list in the final four years.

Term is a bit much but I'm just happy he's staying. Thinking I'll buy an Oshie jersey this year

That is not a good deal. Half way through and he's probably looked at in a similar vein as Orpik...

Also, wonder if will see this kinda term with Kuzya and Orlov.

Shrug. Some other GM will have to deal with the fallout anyway.

Yup.

There'll be pain on the back-end, but he's a heart & soul guy and the current team couldn't afford to lose him -- as a player or a person.

Glad it's done!

8 years at 5.75 is a lot to swallow when he's already 30, but I love Oshie way too much to complain about this right now. Dude is all heart, glad he's staying with us

Come down from what? He wasn't getting 7 million a year. At most he'd be 6.5. That's not really a discount, people were pegging him at 6 for 4 years before the season ended...
