This was the right thing to do. The team has lost confidence and is in free fall. Hutch is all but done. There is nothing to lose by bringing Pav up.
It is, but I think many posters here would rather keep two underperforming goalies to tank the season than to give Pavelec a shot to shake things up.
It's more about anti-Pavelec sentiments than to do what is right for the team in the short-term.
Desperate move by a desperate hack management/ ownership group! **** off Cheveldaydonothingof.
Whoo boy.
Pavs will probably win the next five games. I'm okay with that. Just don't extend his contract, whatever happens.
Helly is not ready, confidence is low and he needs to be sent back down.
Recency bias, but I saw Pavlec stop something like 42 of 43 shots against the Chicago Wolves on Sunday. My friend who was with me, a STH, said that we should bring Pavs up and how great a goalie he is. I was afraid something like this might happen, so here we are. The crazy thing is, they have tried everything else in the goalie department with the personnel that they have and it hasn't worked. Pavs will probably win the next five games. I'm okay with that. Just don't extend his contract, whatever happens.
I have nothing against Pavelec and i hope he stands on his head and we win all the remaining games and we make the play-offs , but going on his history it's not going to happen .What if Pavelec goes on a tear and compiles a .925. Two of the past three years (thr middle one where he had a major injury) would be very good. I wouldn't discount it quite yet but that scenario obviously hinges on Pavelec playing very well with his opportunity.
I hope he does...it would drive a few of you crazy.
