I know... Schremp is not playing in the NHL whereas Olesz will play his sophomore this year !

But hey, what do you think of those two players ? Who would you take ?

I haven't seen Olesz play enough to make an unbiased call here, but IMO the key reason Schremp is not playing in the NHL to start the season is because the Oilers' depth at the forward position is just scary. I think if he were on one of about 25 other teams he'd be in the line-up.

Being an Oilers fan, if Kevin Lowe was offered Olesz for Schremp I would be upset if he didn't jump all over that deal. I like Schremp but I think Olesz is and will continue to be a more complete player than Schremp.

Olesz will be the more valuable player down the road. Much better defensively, and has shown flashes of offensive brilliance.

Schremp is extremely good, but I'm not sure if he'd make the Panthers either.

I question Olesz developement a little more than shremps...though Olesz brings quite a bit more to the table, whether he will develop into a star or not depends on a host of factors coming together, whereas I am pretty sure Shremp will succeed as a powerplay specialist, 25-40 goal, 20-40 assist man.

Schremp has higher offensive upside, Olesz is a better 2-way guy. Depends what you need.

It´s hard to compare their developements as Olesz played against men since he´s 16 and Shremp went the usual way.

HF Ratings:

Olesz: 8.0B

Schremp: 8.0B

:dunno:

There's a lot of variability between teams w/ the rankings making it difficult to use that as the only criterea for comparison. I'd be interested to know why Schremp is rated a B, but that's just MO.

I'd take Olesz because I see his downside as a very good 2nd line LW that can PK and is great in all 3 zones. I'd give Shremp the edge in maximum offensive potential, but not by all that much. Certainly not enough to offset eveything else that RO brings to the game.

I know Pierre McGuire would pick Olesz 'cause he's been run over with a MONSTER hit by God himself (or so Pierre would have you believe) and lived to tell about it.

:biglaugh: :handclap:

When you think about it "God" bestowed Olesz upon the panthers with that hit;) (consensus top 3 or 2 before he was totaled)

I agree. I love Olesz and I'm not big at all on Schremp. If there is a difference offensively, it will never be great enough to offset Olesz's all-round game.
