If the Oilers are sending out Klefbom + 10th oa + yamamoto and all they got was Letang? That’s a fail at the end of the day. We add salary and get an older and still injury prone defenceman. No doubt Letang scores more points but that’s a steep price. Pretty sure the Oilers could get better with that package.

Please, there’s risk involved for every team. Given age, contract and production, there’s a good chance Hamilton is the most valuable piece in a trade scenario. I like Klefbom a lot but he’s missed over a 3rd of the games over the last 3 seasons, being only 24. That’s more than enough for some injury concerns. Kessel isn’t exactly a physical specimen. He strikes me as the kind of guy that already has his money and cups. It wouldn’t be completely surprising to see him go from a PPG player to a 40-50 point player one of these offseasons.

Letang still scored 50 points and was a top 4 defenseman this season. Heck last season he scored as many points as Lucic did this year, but in 41 games.

Gross. I'm not justifying the original deal, but Tkachuk+Hamilton for Klefbom+Kessel is absolutely disgusting.

I agree on the Oilers standpoint.
Tkachuk and Hamilton is worth Pulju and 10th overall only, enough with the fantasy.

That's the price the Flames have pay to help out the Oilers and further cement them as the shining beacon in 'berta, the title in which will never switch hands.
