Interesting stats. Thanks for putting it together. You can see Suzuki and Hancock split the first line draws. Other teams first line centres have ~250 vs Suzuki and Hancock at half. Depends on what side the draw is on. It still shows we could use a 2nd line centre with good face off skills. Although some argue face
Off stats are not as relevant as some think. Me I think starting with possession is always a plus over chasing the puck. I didn't expect us to be top 5.

I sorted the OHL teams based on face-off percentage of their top 5 guys. London is 1st at 58.2% and Erie ranks last at 42.6%

Here's the full list:

no shock erie ranks last..no shock at all

they trade away their youth at Center with McShane/Neumann

Neumann 55% and McShane 54% this yr

Then they lose top center studs in Strome 60%, Pettit 60%, Cirelli 52%
and Foegele 60%, Debrincat 54% who took any other draw they needed

actually come to think of - pretty remarkable that all 4 players lost were centerman, plus a guy in debrincat that took a decent amount of draws

so now they have had to move Lodnia to a position he has never played at this level, relied on Poddubyni in basically his first full year as a center, and rookies (Mack/Patry/Sproule)
No shock they are where they are

At first glance, there seems to absolutely no correlation between faceoff success and winning percentage. It almost looks like it could be negative. That's interesting.

These stats are also from October. But for sure face-off success would have a direct correlation with possession #s. But the OHL doesn't release those stats unfortunately

That would seem to be the logical assumption, but it's not so clear in the stats. The Greyhounds surely lead in possession by a country mile and their faceoff numbers are putrid. Some teams like Sudbury and Windsor that don't have the puck very often are near the top. It would make for an interesting comparison of we had those possession numbers.

theres alot of data out there that says that faceoff wins don't have much of a consolation to possession. that matches much of what the original post presents.

You want to win the face off. What the team is able to with possession is an entirely different matter. A scoring chance of a face off can take as little as 2 seconds. A significant part of a PP can be killed by a face off win..
