Any word on Lazar maybe being returned to junior? I went to the game tonight. It was good but I'm salivating at the prospect of Curtis maybe returning for another year.

I do not think Lazar will be coming back this year. Nothing confirmed but he's played well with Ottawa so far.

Doubtful at this point I would say, but Ottawa certainly has numerous bottom six winger options in the PB atm (Condra, Greening, etc) so there's still a shot I guess. The boys seem to be rolling fine without him though, just finished off MJ as I type this.

Here's hoping!

9-3-1 to start the season.

The team just does not seem to miss a beat no matter who they lose each year.

If they get another 50 win season it'll probably be the most unexpected domination by a junior team in history. Certainly not a lot of people expected them to win the MC last year.

Great game tonight. The boys have been really impressive, I honestly expected them to fall off quite a bit.

Lazar is still able to play two nhl games before a decision is made, its gonna be tricky since he is one of our better half of players.

Lazar can only play one more game before a final decision has to be made.

So expect a decision to be made either after the Sens game on Tuesday (assuming he actually plays that game) or Wednesday.

Send him back. Developing his offense for another year in jr. is the best thing for him. If you could make the arrangements with Murray that would be fantastic.

It sure would be awesome to get Lazar back cause we need the offence and maybe his 200' game will rub off on a few players. Goaltending and D are not bad the team's near the top in PK and GA but near the bottom in PP and GF and that's not a healthy combo

Going to the game on Friday in Cranbrook. Gonna be my first game in two year. Should be fun to watch Reinhart play. Would also be awesome if lazar was back to.

Lazar staying in Ottawa this year..

Great for him, he earned the job against some fierce competition. At least we'll have a reason to watch more Sens games.

Thought it might be good to make a list of Oil Kings alumni playing in the AHL & NHL - might be missing several names...

Mark Pysyk - Rochester Americans (BUF 2010 - 1/23)
Keegan Lowe - Charlotte Checkers (CAR 2011 - 3/73)
Travis Ewanyk - Oklahoma City Barons (EDM 2011 - 3/74)
Martin Gernat - Oklahoma City Barons (EDM 2011 - 5/122)
Griffin Reinhart - Bridgeport Sound Tigers (NYI 2012 - 1/4)
Henrik Samuelsson - Portland Pirates (ARZ 2012 - 1/27)
Mitch Moroz - Oklahoma City Barons (EDM 2012 - 2/32)
Curtis Lazar - Ottawa Senators (OTT 2013 - 1/17)
Cody Corbett - Lake Erie Monsters (COL Undrafted)

A friend came from the Portland area and says Samuelsson is struggling with the Pirates.

Well, that wasn't entirely unexpected. Even without Lazar we have a solid team; Jarry is a top two goalie in the CHL (him or Comrie), our defense is solid and we have depth like crazy up front. However as it stands I don't think we're first tier contenders (ie Kelowna and Med Hat). We're lacking some finish at forward. Do you think Hansch will load up for one last kick at the can before we go full rebuild? Who would be available? I'm sure PA is looking to trade Morrissey, but he'll cost an arm and a leg.

0-0 after 2. Eric Comrie looking great in net for the Americans. Nejezchleb looks like he'll win it in the third. Very dangerous in his Tri-City debut. Great pick up for them.

Oil Kings can't score on this road trip, straight up. They get tons of shots/chances/near misses but can't seem to find the handle on any of them.

Yeah, we're lacking the high end scoring talent, but our best forwards aren't doing the right things - creating traffic, crisp passing for one-timers. Comrie wasn't going to get beat by those bread-basket shots.

Though I couldn't catch the end, I kinda knew we'd lose it in the third. Nejezchleb was really dominant.

We're in Kootenay Country to take on the Ice at 8:00. Need a win to climb back over .500 and salvage a little of this awful road trip. Hopefully we start scoring against a pretty weak Ice squad.

Forgot we played last night! A 4-0 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes snapped our franchise-worst 6 game losing streak. And it was 0-0 until midway through the third. Scary stuff.
