Skinner's been absolutely average tonight, but he just had a five-alarm save off a sweet pass from Fixy. Missed who shot it, but that was complete robbery.

The Hurricanes always seem to have these crazy games. Losing Tyler Wong, I think unfortunately the Canes are going to lose these games more often than not now.

Looks like we won 7-6 for our first W of the season, but the WHL site is borked.
BTW, what's with the text input on this site? It doesn't accept text very fast or accurate.

Oil Kings with a win-now move today, acquiring big right shot centre Tomas Soustal (20 years old) for a fourth rounder and waiving Artyom Baltruk. Soustal was close to a PPG last year. Interesting move in a supposed rebuilding year, but I like it.

Soustal's been an invite to the rookie development camps. Wonder if this is partly the big club using their junior organization to get a more thorough look at him as a player.

The Oil Kings had the better edge in play but they still got thwacked by the Wheat Kings 7-3. Travis Child allowed 3 goals on 9 shots in the first period and Boston Bilous (L 0-2-0) could only make 9 saves on 12 shots. The last goal was into the empty net. Trey Fix-Wolansky led the way for OKs with a goal and an assist, with Matthew Robertson and Brett Kemp added a goal each. Will Warm, Nick Bowman, Davis Koch, Andrei Pavlenko and Connor McDonald each added an assist. Shots were 34-22 for the OKs. Fix-Wolansky was named second star for his efforts.

Note: the WHL game summary had Bilous only giving up 2 goals on 11 shots and did not show that the 7th Brandon goal was into the EN.

Soustal, Warm, and Fix-Wolansky all looked good and Dechaine had a solid game. Oil Kings improve to 3-4 with a 5-1 win over Everett. Got scrappy toward the end, too.

This Tyler Steenbergen kid that plays for Swift Current is playing absolutely out of his mind right now.

Fifth rounder in this past year's draft - he has 13 goals in 6 games. Holy hell.
