I thought a thread we can all converge to to talk about the off-season, which should be a real important one for the Habs, instead of being all over the place would be a good idea.

For me, if Bergevin is coming back, so be it. I would rather see him replaced, but I won't dwell on it much. But if he's staying, a lot of other people have to go.

In terms of the administration, I'm looking for the departure of:

    - Assistant GM's (particularly Dudley and Carriere)
    - Scouting department (particularly Eric Crawford)
    - Assistant coaches in Montreal (particularly JJD & Lacroix. Wouldn't mind Muller and Waite staying)
    - Entire coaching staff in AHL.

I'm not particularly looking for scorched earth, but heads need to roll even if MB's won't.

If they are going to leave MB in charge..........we need a real hockey President, who is MB's direct report. There is no way you can let this guy fix his own mess, with making more of a mess...............he needs help, he is in over his head, and a President who knows the game, will be a step in the right direction.

Geoff Molson has really disappointed me, in his tenure since running the team, since he bought it from George Gillette.

We have been an awful hockey team for the past four seasons, including the 110pt season, where they all got extensions, only because Price thought he was Hasek!! The team is a hot mess, and it gets worse, season after season...how anyone in their right mind, would continue to let MB make major decisions, is beyond stupid.

I tweeted Engels and asked him if any of his predictions are based off some information he's privy to due to his proximity to the team as part of the media. He replied to me "Maybe."

Why would the Habs even extend Dan Lacroix last summer? Just MB looking after his buddies it looks like to me.

Beats me. If you go back to last off-season, I was practically convinced that the AHL staff was as good as gone and so were Daigneault and Lacroix. I was saying that Muller and Waite would be the only coaches CJ would want to keep with him.

I believe JJ was also extended and we know the AHL staff was, as well.

Whether it was MB looking to help his buddies out or sheer incompetence, the fact remains that whether extended or not, they need to go. It's a year too late for sure, but I'd rather these changes be made a year too late than for them to remain for another 2-3-4 years.

I look forward to see a couple of assistants get fired only to be replaced by more 90s hockey plugs who are friends with Bergevin.

Adam Michaels' post hit my thoughts exactly.

The absolute musts for me are the dismissal of Crawford and Daigneault.

The deck chairs on the titanic will be reshuffled yet again. No one will be held accountable. Some part time stats guy will be fired because he said the team sucks.

I get the sense a few poeple in key positions will be showed the door this time around. Just a hunch I have. Could be wrong. Would hate to be wrong.

I don't see Byron accepting an extension. With 20 goals the last two years he will be looking for a major pay raise.

Why wouldn't Byron accept an extension? He will get his pay raise in Montreal.

I'd add Lefebvre to the list and the Carriere boys. Everyone else is up for debate in my eyes.

IMO (for contracts only, disregarding trades)
I think bolded are next to guarantees for returning.
    Underlined are probable returns.
Blue are 'in the air' returns
Red are players I just don't see coming back.
