If we get #16, I want Guryanov, if he's still there and none of the top 10 or so have dropped to us. Imagine Guryanov and Buchnevich on the same line for the Rangers.

I wouldn't mind it, but if NYR were described as taking the safest player it would be Konecny. Gurianov will definitely be a great study, though.

White is the player that I really like.

While I wouldn't go D necessarily, Chabot is growing on me.

Timo Meier is also a guy interesting to me.

Meier is very gifted, think he'll go top 15.

Chabot is intriguing, but as an offensive minded speedster on the back end, I would've thought he'd put up more points. He's still a good idea, though.

White is also intriguing, but he does get a little lazy sometimes. He can take pretty good face-offs, however.

Edit: Just checked on Chabot some more and he did put up more goals than most defensive prospects available in the draft. Jeremy Roy, who is considered the most offensive defender in the draft class, had only 5 goals this season with 1 in the playoffs. Chabot had 12 goals in the season, but none in the playoffs. Interesting stats, nonetheless.

I like Chabot better than Roy. I'm probably not taking a D at 16 though.

Agreed, there are a lot of talented strikers in this draft, let alone the 1st round.

If we are moving up to 16 you go get the offensive player unlikely to be there by their next pick. It's easier to get defenders later.

Just saw this full mock of the 2015 draft. If the Rangers came out with this, I'd lose faith in this organization immediately. :shakehead

2nd (#61???) LW: Austin Wagner
3rd (#89) LW: Erik Foley
4th (#119) G: Jake Morissey
6th (#179) LW: Samuel Laberge
7th (#209) D: Christian Evers
???? 7th (#211) D: Patrik Koch

So many things wrong with this mock.... Thoughts?

During a mock draft I did with friends, these were my picks:

2nd (#61) C Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson
3rd (#89) LW: Keegan Kolesar
4th (#119) D: Chaz Reddekopp
6th (#179) C: Brad Morrison
7th (#209) D: Sergei Zborovsky
7th (#211) LW: Mattias Elfström

By the way: The reason we have pick no 61 is because Chicago has a compensatory pick in round 2, if I'm not mistaken. And the 2011th pick was acquired in the trade for Daniel Walcott with Tampa, a pick we sent their way in the St. Louis trade in the first place, if I'm correct

Has there been a verdict on which 2nd rounder NYR has? Is it their own or Tampa's? Some mocks I've seen have it as vice versa and it's kind of annoying.

Not a bad draft. I'd be alright with that.

I know that the 2nd rounder is based on Arizona either taking NYR's pick or Tampa's pick which varys from picking at #59 and #61.

I also know that NYR didn't have a 7th before they traded Walcott, which ended up being the pick they sent to Tampa originally (#209).

Have no idea where #211 came from.

It should be 209th because 210 and 211 belong to the Stanley Cup teams, right? Again, accounting for the compensatory pick in round 2 which pushes down each pick

Right off the bat--I'd hope we could do better than Wagner. Foley would be okay where he's taken. At #119 we don't need either another goalie or to take a shot in the dark on a guy who hardly played last year. Don't get that at all. I saw Garland at #144--he's real small but I think that guy's got something. I'd go with him. Laberge might be okay at #209 or #211.

I felt that the only good pick was Foley in the 3rd round. The rest, IMO, made no sense.

Yeah the teams still in the playoffs have #210 and #211. I was curious as to how NYR ended up with #209 and #211.

Thought I missed something.

This is a 6 round mock, but I think it's better than the last one....

2nd (#61) C: Anthony Beauvillier
3rd (#89) D: Austin Strand
4th (#119) C: Chase Pearson
6th (#179) G: Evan Smith

Still don't really like the goalie option, but I'm feeling eh on this one. This is better than the other mock I posetd earlier, though.

I like Pearson's selection in that mock. The guy signed with Maine and will play in the NCAA which could turn out to be great development

Well I don't study this nearly as closely as you or some others do. I kind of keep an eye on it off and on as long as the Rangers are playing--then afterwards start looking at it a lot harder. Not having a first again kind of dampens the enthusiasm.

Foley's got some size, grit and skill--could turn into a pretty good player. Garland caught my eye during the season. I'd really like us to take him. When we get to #209 and #211--there's really a whatever--not sure what or wouldn't make sense for those picks.

David Cotton doesn't get selected at all?

Good size and good numbers @ US prep school, going to Boston College in 2016.

I was hoping he'd sneak to the 3rd or 4th round.
