Why would Daly care about the Hurricanes's AHL team?

It was an inside joke from the Phoenix saga.

Daly once told the Glendale city council, who were asked to put up $25million in escrow to cover the Coyotes expenses at GRA and the NHL was "close" to having Matt Hulsizer take over as new owner, that it an "insurance policy" that would be returned once they had the new owner in place.

I mean I get that, but I think what people are asking is why would he go to Charlotte's city council when the Hurricanes play in Raleigh, some 160+ miles/2.5 hours away?

UH, ACTUALLY, he'd care because Charlotte IS THE AHL TEAM'S territory, JEFF

no, EI, Charlotte never has been a Carolina territory, the only reason that ever existed is the deal Kahn did to bring the Checkers up from the ECHL to the AHL, YOU DO REALIZE Carolina still controls Estero's territory by owning the Everblades.

B: Why did you edit the content of my post when you quoted it to actively make it less grammatically correct?

It occasionally happens to me that the caps get lost when trying to quote someone of HFB. Haven't looked into the particulars what exactly might cause that.

Did you ever meet Oscar Robertson?

Not really meet, but I held a door open for him one time. It was about 15 years ago and he was in town for family reunion, I was working at the Kmart in the next town over and just happened to see him. Wasn't sure it was him at first, but he wearing a polo with "The Big O" as a monogram so that pretty well gave it away.

Free tickets being given away to an October home game in 2017-18

https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/tickets/new-movers

Does anyone know anything more about this offer?

It's for people who just moved to NC. The target demo is hockey fans who have pre-existing loyalties.

Note that the tickets are not automatic... you have to have a substantial conversation with a ticket rep in order to get them. Guess who's gonna give you a followup call the next day to talk about STH options?
