This is the first thread we will use for trades in the off season.
  1. This is for trade proposals and rumors.
  2. Any legit rumors will be added to the title and post number by a moderator.
  3. Keep all trade proposals in these threads. Creating new threads will be considered spam. We want to make it easy for new people to navigate these forums.
  4. If a legitimate trade happens, a new thread will be created for it.
  5. When this thread reaches 1000 posts, a moderator will create a new one.

Off topic, but I have always wanted to know why new threads have to be created after a post reaches 1000 posts.

Anyways, i hope the sens try to trade for a top 4 dman in the summer. The sens really need it.

It slows the server down if threads get too long.

My best guess is that we move out a an extra bottom half D at the draft, probably Wiercioch but possibly Gryba.

I can also see us moving out a surplus C, possibly SDC. Winnipeg really needs young C with upside, so I can see something happening there.

Hard to know what we will get back without knowing what the budget will be like next season. I can see us going hard to add a first round pick to get a young player and make some room in the budget.

Wouldn't trade Zibanejad straight up for that package.

Getting rid of Greening makes it tempting though, lol.

yes
Forwards with a chance to be on the team next season.
  1. Spezza
  2. Ryan
  3. Turris
  4. MacArthur
  5. Neil
  6. Smith
  7. Condra
  8. Zibanejad
  9. Greening
  10. Hoffman
  11. Lazar
  12. Da Costa
  13. Pageau
  14. Stone
  15. Michalek
  16. Hemsky

We'll probably carry 13 forwards and 8 dmen.

3 from that list gotta be put somewhere.

Imo: Lazar gets 9 games then back to juniors. Condra gets traded because Greening is untradeable. Da Costa will make the team but will eventually be traded:)thumbd:) to make room for Pageau.

Michalek will sadly be re-signed for longer and more than he deserves. Hemsky gets re-signed.

Main Top 6: Spezza, Turris, Ryan, MacArthur, Hemsky, Michalek.
Mixed Bottom 6: Zibanejad, Hoffman, Stone, Pageau, Smith, Neil, Greening.

I think they will keep Lazar for training camp and give him some preseason games but send him back to the juniors. No need to rush him.
I doubt Da Costa signs with us again. He will go to a team where he has a better shot at cracking the bigs.
Ideally Greening is shipped out with that contract.

I don't imagine Da Costa is going to go back to Binghamton again. Europe or NHL.

For the love of god, lets hope Greening and Michalek are off this team.

Also would love to see Wiercioch packaged with Prince and maybe something more for Stewart from Buffalo.

If signing Michalek to a reasonable contract is what allows us to keep Hemsky (because: Czech factor? :dunno:), then I'm totally fine with that. Michalek isn't useless, he's just not the same player he used to be. He can't be a guy taking up $6mil+ of our payroll, but he's still a decent talent.

Greening can get lost, though.

Chris Phillips plus whatever draft pick it takes to induce another team to take him off our hands. I know it'll never happen but it would be for the best.

Greening and Phillips for anything. Let Michalek walk and sign Setoguchi.

Hoffman Spezza Hemsky
MacArther Turris Ryan

Marc Methot moved in the offseason. Book it.

I really hope not. He's our best defensive defenceman, which might not be saying much, but still. If we kept Phillips just so we could move Methot I think we might need to find Murray and do him harm.
