Off-season game : boost your fav team

Seven rules. Pretty simple. Here they are :

- Choose your favorite team.

- Replace one of your top 5 scorers from the 19-20 season with whoever you want in the NHL, from whichever team, whichever position. BUT that player can only have scored a maximum of 10 more points than the player you're replacing. So if you wanna "trade" a 50 pt scorer, you can only replace him with a 60 pt scorer.

- Replace your #1 C with a #1 C within your division. For this game, a #1 C is the highest scoring C of a team. Example : Domi for Tavares (not Matthews).

- Add one of your least favorite players in the NHL to your team. Example : for me, it's Gallagher. Little restriction : you can't say your least favorite player is Crosby  It has to be somewhat obvious like mine, and it can't be a franchise level player.

- Replace a top-4 dman on your team with a lower scoring dman.

- Take one of your teams top 5 prospects, and project him REASONABLY (key word... I will be watching ya'll homers) in the future. Basically, put him in a time machine EndGame style and get him back 3-4 years older pretty much in his prime. You're allowed to exaggerate a bit obviously, but it has to be based on something... You can't just say for example that Logan Brown from the Sens is gonna be a 95 pt #1 center just because you're high on him.

- No salary cap.

You're allowed to use loopholes, for example replacing the top 4 dman with a dman who was injured that didn't play many games thus less points. If you can find them, use them! Show your proof e.g. list of your team's top 5 scorers.

I tried to make things a little bit different than the usual "fuse your 2 fav teams together" or "add your fav player to your fav team" type threads. It should allow you to boost your team with a bit of a twist. Also fans of the same teams can end up with pretty different results so that should be cool. Hope you enjoy it!

Here's my attempt for the Sens

I replace #1 C Tierney (lmao) with #1 C Barkov, from the Atlantic division
I replace #4 leading scorer Bobby Ryan (42 pts) with Filip Forsberg (50 pts) ; note that Stone, Duchene and Dzingel were all traded and no longer on the roster which is why Ryan is a top 5 active scorer for the Sens.
I replace DeMelo (22 pts) with Stralman (17 pts)
I add my least favorite player Gallagher
I project top prospect Drake Batherson as a 25-30 goal 65 pt 1st line RW.

Chabot-Stralman
Wolanin-Zaitsev
Brannstrom-Hainsey

Anderson
Nilsson

Fun game for a Sens fan because it allows me to spend more than crappy ol' Eugene would... Still not a very good team that would get trashed by the rest of the posts in this thread, but much better than before

replacing #1C Larkin for Barkov
replacing 35 point #5 scorer Frans Nielsen(I removed the guys that are no longer with the team from the top 5 list) with 45 point Erik Karlsson
replacing 26 point top 4 defenseman Mike Green with 22 point Matt Dumba
honestly I don't really have any players that I particularly dislike at the moment so i'll skip this one
projecting Moritz Seider as a ~30-40 point first pairing guy that's good defensively

Bertuzzi-Barkov-Mantha
Athanasiou-Filppula-Hirose
Helm-Glendening-Zadina
De La Rose-Ehn-Abdelkader

Hronek-Karlsson
Dumba-Seider
DeKeyser-Daley

Howard
Bernier

super weak at Center and Hronek's playing on the wrong side which isn't ideal but overall to say that the Wings biggest weakness has been dramatically improved is a huge understatement with this hypothetical team

if only I had a 2C I really hated

Replace Hayes with Dahlin.
Replace Zibanejad with Crosby.
Add Justin Williams. Not a fan. The 2014 Cup Finals could've been a lot closer.
Replace Trouba with Doughty

Weird with all this people thinking Marchand isn't a franchise-level player.
