We’re going to be fielding a basketball team soon.

He’s better than Boyko. I think he’ll be the 3 for Hartford next season, and the 2 the following season. Boyko and Lindbom are finished.

6'8"? This is the real life version of Duncan the Walrus in net, isn't it?
Ha, came to reference exactly this.

Duncan he is not--he's pretty talented and for a guy his size is quite nimble. He struggles with positioning at times because he can "cheat" being so large, and that will be exposed even more at the pro level, but he's no slouch. He helped make Merrimack a respectable team the past few years (a long with netmate Zack Borgiel) including getting them to the Hockey East championship last season where they lost in OT to BU; they also made the tourney for the first time in a very long time.

Anyway, chances are he tops out as an organizational depth guy, but you never know. We saw what Ben Bishop did at that size.

Benoit Allaire will find a way to make this kid an NHLer lol. Might be impossible to score on him...

His last name is also "to be maleficiantly touched by a bellend" in Swedish.
I know that's supposed to be a translation, but WTF does that mean and why is there a single word that means that?

The giant goalies fail more often than not.

The over 6'5 drafted goalies since 2008-2019:
2008
Jacob Markstrom (6'6) - NHL starter
Jason Missiaen (6'8) - ECHL goalie
Anders Lindback (6'6) - Third string goalie
2009
Mikko Koskinen (6'7) - Ok NHL goalie
Anders Nilsson (6'6) - NHL backup

Igor Bobkov (6'6) - Couldn't cut it in AHL, doing well in KHL
Connor Knapp (6'6) - ECHL goalie
2010
Mathieu Corbeil (6'6) - Retired, sub-ECHL level
2011
Magnus Hellberg (6'6) - 3rd string goalie
2012
Anthony Stolarz (6'6) - Backup NHL goalie
Jon Gillies (6'6) - AHL goalie
2014
Hugo Fagerblom (6'6) - low-level pro sswedish league goalie
2015
Ivan Fedotov (6'8) - Maybe but needs to come over. Not world beater
Evan Smith (6'6) - Already retired, couldn't cut it in WHL
2017
Keith Petruzelli (6'6) - AHL/ECHL
2018
Magnus Chrona (6'6) - Struggling in AHL
Shamil Shmakov (6'6) - VHL 3rd goalie
2019
Mads Soogard (6'7) - AHL goalie, maybe NHL backup
Erik Portillo (6'6) - AHL goalie, maybe NHL backup

Dominic Basse (6'6) - Struggling NCAA starter

In 11 years and 19 picks, that's currently 4 NHL goalies and only 1 starter. 6'4/6'5 goalies are more successful. There's a point where the size is just size outside the net area.
