not trying to give EK any excuses but he came in without a training camp and no preseason games. Brassard was able to skate and attend training camp, Karlsson has been on skate for about a month now its gonna take him a minute to get his game speed back.

They say that "He who hesitates is lost" and on that note Stone alone had this game on his stick at least 3 times.
Yeah he hangs on to it a little too long. Those are off vaneks stick and in he back of the net ina. Flash.

To be fair, I don't think we managed a single win last year when there were 11 forwards.

Plus the 3 wins came with Chabot in the line up. Rolling out 7 d when you can toss Chabot on in offensive situations is a huge boost. Running 7 d so you can put Borowiecki on the ice to just chase the play for the duration of his shift is the opposite of that.

Can't put Chabot on the ice, he's down in Belleville playing 20-25 minutes a game, developing in a development league.

Are you suggesting that Chabot should or shouldn't be in the AHL.

btw) I held your user name up to a mirror and nothing showed. Explanation?

This is what I saw from the 200s:

- Technical issue with the sound at the rink all up until the anthem, and after some kind of false alarm. It was completely silent. Not sure if this was mentioned on TV. Was seriously hoping for a "no-speaker" game (I would pay $$$ for that, what's wrong with just watching the game?) but it wasn't meant to be.
- 1st period was great, total domination. 2nd period, not so much. Things got sleepy and boring after the first period.
- If I'd been in a coma since last April and woke up today, I wouldn't have been able to tell Karlsson had a foot injury and this was his first game back after surgery. This wasn't necessarily one of his best games, but I didn't notice anything wrong with him. Then again I'm not a skating specialist.
- BUT: his presence led to a jumbling of the defensive pairings, and so I thought they were a bit disorganized and tentative as a result. Got worse after Boro was gone (assume he got injured in that fight?).
- Guys who looked great: Smith (lots of energy, although missed a couple of opportunities to finish his check), Hoffman (lots of hustle).
- Guys who didn't: Claesson looked tentative and badly positioned at times. Wideman didn't play much, but he lost an opportunity to solidify his spot on the PP with a very bad shift at the one chance he got near the end.
- Oduya is no Methot... Missing his assertiveness.
- PP missed Chabot. Things went back to being static, even though we did generate some good chances.

That’s a game we shouldn’t have lost as far as I’m concerned.
Definitely. The one time we outshoot the opponent by 10+ shots in a single period and no goals to show for it. I mean, it's Vancouver. I expected such since Nielsson starting in nets.
I agree with you, but there's no easy game in the NHL anymore, Vegas just won another game they are 5-1
Incredible

Hockey is a funny game isn't it?
It's a nice start to their franchise but I'm going go out on a limb here and say they are in for a very long November.
Yes I would agree with you, especially when to go on the road, VGK will come crash back to earth soon or later right?

Question on 11-7.

I understand that we are dealing with professional hockey players and that this should never be an issue, but it seems to me that a 11-7 setup is only more confusing to the players and more taxing on the coaching staff to make sure each individual player knows when and with who they will be playing with everytime a player comes on and off the ice. Either way, not sure if it matters or not, but it would just seem easier to have 4 lines and 3 even D pairs.

Something is fishy here. Boucher really does not want to play Brown and this team clearly needs another forward. Is Melnyk being really cheap here and is refusing to pay for another player, or is Dorion just a little lost at sea here?? If the plan is to send Brown back to Windsor, get it over with and call up a forward that Boucher will play.
