With Nashville being so close to playoff spot now, I'm getting a little worried Poile might not unload Ellis or Ekholm before the deadline; IMO, they could both go and we would only take a marginal step back on D for the time being. Benning has been competent, Harpur is miles above Borocop, Carrier looks like he could be a top 4 PP specialist, Farrance has the pedigree...it's gonna be interesting for sure. Josi/Fabbro pairing might be the go to #1 sooner than we think

I suspect trading Ekholm is just kicked down the road after expansion draft. We arent in any concern for it, and Poile will want to give himself every opportunity to make the playoffs.

I think Poile won't move Ellis or Ekholm unless someone matches their high asking price, which has gotten high since we started winning again. If we do move one of them it'll more likely be after the expansion draft.

Glad to see Farrance signed.

Who?

Seems a bit of a late bloomer, 2017 3rd round pick, breakout season last season in the NCAA,
before that...pretty mediocre prospect, interesting to see what comes of him.

Really? Only been one of the best NCAA D-men for the past couple seasons...especially once Fabbro graduated. Should've won the Hobey Baker last year IMO and is a finalist again this year. I personally think he'll be better than Fabbro and be top 4/PP1 for Nashville sooner than later.

Fabbro has really played great at times this year, so I hope you're right. I hope we can see Farrance on the left and Fabbro on the right side to be honest!

Farrance might only be right behind the Adam Foxes of the world, I don't think you should sleep on him. He can put up really strong offensive numbers, and has a bit more size than Fox.
He's also better insulated by veterans in Nashville's lineup, so for that reason you probably won't see an explosion to 50+ points from Farrance until Josi/Ekholm/Ellis/Fabbro start to give up minutes - specifically on the powerplay.

Nashville desperately needs to upgrade its defensive depth beyond the four listed above (side non-withstanding) if they are thinking of making a little run. I think Farrance instantly becomes their 5th best d-man.

We have upgraded the depth now that we're playing our prospects who some of us have been screaming should be our bottom pair for a couple years over the gutter trash vets that Poile signs to play the bottom pair.

So right away he's better than Carrier, Davies or Allard? I hope you're right, all 3 of those guys have looked good, especially Carrier.

For someone who makes a trillion prospect threads, this is quite a puzzling post from you George...

Farrance has been one of the best defensive prospects in the past two to three years.
