Anybody know if Flames pick Jusso Puustinen will be coming to play in Kamloops next year? I am sure the Flames would love to have him in the WHL.

The Blazers wouldn't waste a pick on him if they weren't reasonably sure he'd come over.

I hope you're right, it would sure make it easier for me to track his development, and it would explain why the Flames seemed rather eager to pick him.

Well, something could always happen. The player could change his mind, a European team could offer him a lot of money, or maybe some family problems could occur that force him to remain in Finland.

Usually before a CHL team picks an import player, they reach an agreement with that player and his agent to bring him over. So it's a safe bet he'll probably be in Kamloops next season.

Is this New Jersey prospect Petr Vrana's little (big) brother??

#8 Red Deer Rebels - Kiril Starkov
Frölundas ultratekniske forward Kirill Starkov kommer alltså spela WHL-hockey till hösten. En stor attraktion på isen, som säkerligen inte skulle göra bort sig i ES till hösten. Han fick ju redan smaka på seriespel i våras.

Frölunda's super technical forward Kirill Starkov will play WHL hockey this fall. A big attraction on the ice, who certainly would look good in the SEL, too. He got some ice time this spring already.

Thanks Vikke! :handclap:

Draft fans should watch the Latvians closely for 2007. Gudmanis in particular could surprise.
THat's what I thought as well. Grundmanis is a big kid (6'4) and was the youngest player at the U20 this year (Latvia lost all but one game whis is no surprise). It's good that so many Latvians are taken since the local development programme is not that strong and CHL does wonders to some of the more perspective players due to fiercer competition and better coaching (take Karsums as a very good example)

Any information on him? Anyone?

I posted this in Thrashers board already, but heres what i think of Kulda.

Arturs Kulda, D (1988, 6'2 194 lbs). Kulda was part of latvian U18 team this year that was promoted to elite. He was playing in Russia for CSKA Moscow reserve team. From what i saw in U18 (5G - 1G - 2A, +10) hes a good skater with great shot from the slot. Loved his play on 1 on 1 in defence, i cant remember anyone beating him. Likes to play phisical, even though in U18 its hard to get away even with a clean hit. Might develope into a great stay home defencemen who can play on PP. Hes not fastest guy out there but good positioning and skating covers it (kinda like Skrastins).
