He's having a breakout season without Malkin. 16 games, 6 goals, 6 assists, 12 points, +5 All at the highest level in Russia. Maple Leafs second round pick in the 2006 NHL Draft.
Sergei Shirokov, Canucks 6th Round pick. Currently playing in the RSL for CSKA Moscow. 6 goals, 10 assists for 16 points in 16 games. ('86 boy, same with Kulemin.)
Glad to hear that Kulemin is doing well - I was very impressed with what I saw from him at the WJC here in Vancouver last year, and was hoping that someone from the Sens scouting would pick up on it. He was very impressive in terms of attacking the net, and I remember saying to my friend that the way he was playing the attack zone looked professional way beyond his years. He's not the kind of guy who can carry the offense, but as a potential complement player he looked like he had a pretty strong skill set, and had a really strong tournament.
good thing about Kool's is that he can hit and if he doesnt pan out offensively, he's excellent 2-way i cant wait for him to come over.
Kulemin really turned it up 10-fold last year. I remember him playing on the 2004 Re-Max (or whatever you call it) Select Russian team that always sucks. From what I gather he wasn't anything special......then a little over a year later he's playing in the world championships with Ovechkin and Malkin. Fiesty player with a really good amount of talent.
I like Kulemin as a prospect, I have big expectations from him. anyone have a list of past RSL rookies of the year?
He plays with Yan Marek. Maybe the best center in RSL. Kulemin is good, but he must have scored much more.
