Congrats Kucherov! Historic regular season, no doubt. 144 points and 100 assist for a winger is historic, especially during modern era with parity throughout. Writing 144 points & 100 assist for a winger just now feels crazy talk to me, but here we are.

Last nights game vibe between Lightning -vs- Leafs was a great example of what Kuch has done his whole career. He preforms on biggest stages, against best of teams, and he still gets it done no matter what's in front of him. Kuch is..... "The Magic Man" that has delivered many times over against best of best, during regular season and playoffs. Thanks for memories Kucherov........

In all of NHL history, there have only been 18 instances where a player has led his team in scoring by 50+ points (Gretzky has eight of those - everyone else in NHL history has ten).

Close calls: Lemieux (1993), Ovechkin (2006), Dennis Maruk (1982) - 49 points each

That 107 point margin by Gretzky is ridiculous. How in the hell is that even possible?

Top 10 in scoring this season: 2 russians, 2 canadians, 2 americans, czhech, german, finn and swede. Pretty cosmopolitan list. Is it the worst season for canadian hockey in terms of top scorers? 11th is russian, by the way.
That's actually pretty cool.

Wow, Kucherov is with some special company there.

As much as Lightning struggled at beginning of season, Cooper used Kucherov a bunch and put him on anyone's line that was struggling too. It worked! This year, Kucherov was so huge for Lightning after covid flat-cap quickened break-up of "Cup" winning bunch. With so many cap loses, and injuries to start year, Lightning were not juggernaut that almost 3-peated 2-3 yrs ago. Kuch was driving force that kept Lightning afloat until Vasy and rest of team started playing better last 1/2 - 3rd of season. Without Kucherov, Lightning are in the middle of that crazy east playoff race to finish season or worse.

Truly a special season and has reclaimed his position as the second best player in the world. Let’s see if he can keep a handle on it going forward or slip out of rotation with the usual handful who stake a fresh claim every season.

On a side note, just 5 points in the first round of the playoffs propels him past MacInnis, Smith, Bossy, Howe, and Potvin, and would put him at 21st all-time for playoff points.
