Nick Palmieri

I haven't heard much mention of him on this board, but he has to be a guy who's raising his draft stock so far this year. He has size at 6'3" 213 lbs and judging by his penalty total might be a fairly physical player as well. He's totaled 7 goals and 7 assists for 14 points in 11 games so far this year with Erie in the OHL. Looking at that size and production, he seems to fit the profile of a first-round pick. Does anyone have any opinions on his play so far? (And maybe another big winger scoring at a point per game in Akim Aliu as well)

hes probably a second or third rounder now, but could improve into a late first rounder with good numbers. speed and shot accuracy hold him back, and could protect the puck better.

I was saying just the other day how he sort of started off with a profile and expectations similar to some of the other 2nd/3rd round PF types lately, like Blunden, Bickell, Berti, etc. But you know, just projecting his current pace forward, he'd have 40+ goals and 200+ PIMs, which is a far cry ahead of those guys in terms of pure numbers in their draft years. Of course, there's a loooong way to go in this season. And Erie isn't looking so hot. Whether that helps or hinders his production, though, tough to say.
