about a month ago odds in Vegas were 32 - 1. I dont gamble too much but knew that was too good of odds so i reached out to my gambling buddy and put money on them winning the cup at 20-1. took me about a week to set up which cost me a good amount (along with the brokers cut).

It’s pretty accurate from around the 60 game mark on. I wouldn’t put a huge amount of stock in what the current odds are.

20-1 is brutal for Vegas. You bet $100 to get $2k, minus any fees you had to pay. Vegas is the feel good, not the smart play. That’s just my opinion

that was like 3 weeks ago so our record is a lot better now, but yeah, brutal for Vegas. It was like Vegas wasn't factoring in all of our injuries and the fact we are a great 2nd half team.

Wait, are you guys talking about betting on the VGK to win the cup or putting a wager on the Ducks to win with a Vegas bookie? To me it seems like DaGeneral is talking about the former and Trojans86 about the latter.

I usually put a very small wager on the Ducks before the season begins, but this year I waited a bit because of the injuries and got 27-1 which I felt were pretty decent odds.

Do they take into account the Ducks notoriously being a 2nd half team?
probably not which is why I was able to get solid odds. the big thing for me is how well Gibson is playing. a good goalie is huge in the playoffs.

The abundance of 3 point games the teams ahead of the Ducks are playing in is so frustrating!

The way I see it is we need to beat two of San Jose, Calgary, and LA. The wild card teams may end up with more points.

Ducks win
Kings win
Minny wins

Flames lose
Sharks lose

Avalanche currently winning.

We should be over 40% now.

Did the kings winning help us or hurt us? I know it kept Dallas closer for a wild card spot, but didn't move us closer to LA for a division spot.

Had to hurt us since we are tied with the kings and there is a good chance the Pacific doesn't even get a wild card.

- Point pace before getting "healthy" (I went with Kesler's return) = .540
- Pace since then = .625
- Pace needed to hit a benchmark of 96 pts = .620

Losing to Buffalo would pretty much spell the end of our playoff dreams.
