Did anyone see how badly Shattenkirk got shaken by Panarin on that goal? If we are going to pay him like a first pair defensemen, he better learn to defend better than that. Those are the players you are going to have to defend if you are going to be a first pair defensemen in this league.

Man I hate to say it but I think we might get blown out of the water tomorrow. That team is FAST and aggressive with a boat load of hungry young talent.

Barring a classic performance from Lundqvist as he has pretty damn good numbers against NJ, but it would also make sense if Pavelec gets the go tomorrow with the B2B. No faith in him at all. This is why I always say you save your starter for the back end, regardless of opponent. That way if you lose the first game,at least you know you have a card to play with your #1 fresh and ready to go.

No I agree, tomorrow's game vs Debs is a game that I have not a clue as to how the boys will respond play. I can hope we play well but way things are going thus far, it's just impossible to predict. That is unusual seeing most of the time in the past, you knew Rangers after a loss would come back and play an inspired game no matter who it was we played.

Not this year tho. We'll see what happens but yeah Debs certainly look dangerous compared the past 3-4 years and so nothing would surprise me. For AV's sake, he better hope the boys win and preferably win convincingly otherwise he simply will be giving JG more impetus to make a change.

I know some of guys don`t like it, but I think we need to get Nash away from Zucc.
I would love to see Kreider - Miller - Zucc line.

We are not good enough 5 v 5 this season - so it can`t hurt to try it some games.

I missed tonight's game, it was my rehearsal dinner.

Tomorrow night is my wedding.

The next 10 days I will be in the Caribbean on my honeymoon. Wow, things will probably change BIG TIME by the time I am back from my honeymoon. This board will either be in disaster tank mode or we will be on a streak (hopefully) and everything will be fine. We will need AV to pull his head out of his butt to do that though. Either way, I'll still be right back here.

Anyway, how was tonight's game. It seems we can't score. That's not good. How was Hank?
Enjoy your day man, it's a long day that goes by in the blink of an eye, if that makes sense.

I'm sure everyone wants to get away from Nash, the guy is declining so rapidly.

Gotta keep the first line together, thats a quality line, patch a good second line together, some combination of Nash, Zucc, Hayes and Miller. The other gets the assignment of having to play with Vesey and Desharnais/Grabner. Play the first two lines 20 minutes each. I'm serious, we have very little forward depth. How can you say you are trying to win when with 5 minutes left you are running Carey and Cracknell out there? We are not a four line team. If we continue to act like it, we'll keep losing.

I think most players would have had their ankles broken by Panarin on that goal.

Sure, it looked bad by Shatty, but I think you could replace him with anyone and it would look just as bad.

Outside of McDonagh, the whole D-corps was horseshit tonight.

Thats exactly what he is though. A second pair defensemen, needs heavily sheltered minutes, can not go up against top players.

I definitely don't want Holden on the first pair, Skjei should be there in his place.

People can criticize AV and there's plenty to criticize him for, but the GM got him a 6.65 defensemen who he needs to heavily shelter, can not put out there against top players. Its not an easy task to find players for your top pairing when you spend so much money on a PP specialist who can't go against top players.

What do people expect? They looked at this D and thought it would be good this season? There actually were many who did, people here said it would be a top 5 defense in the NHL.

McDonagh is very good, hopefully Skjei progresses further to be a good top 4 D, Shattenkirk is going to score 40-50 points, but thats about it with the defense. The rest of the guys are bottom pairing guys, at best. And the goalie situation doesn't look all too promising, although Hank has been decent the last few matches.

Hank was great. He should and likely is pissed at the lack of support he got. We got dominated at the face off dot all night long. We had good moments in short spurts. But with game still in doubt, Jackets dominated.

OH and this new server still stinks terribly...lol

Congrats on the big day...best of luck for you and the new bride....:)

Gorton sleeping at the wheel in that Panarin move - he won that game himself almost with that goal. :)

Sure. If the proper pairs we put together then it could be a good defense.

McD had to carry Girardi along all those years and they did OK for the most part...that can be done with Shattenkirk as well (BUT with added offense, not saying Shattenkirk is a top pair dman but McD can carry the defensive workload). Then use Smith and Skjie, and ADA and Staal..boom..good defense. But nope. He wants to shuffle everything around every 2 periods so zero chemistry is formed and nobody out there knows whats going on. ADA has a bad game, as a rookie (omg)...and he is benched. Were you happy when he did that with Buch last year? Probably not. Let the damn rookies work through their mistakes. They are our future.

So AV gets fired, and they hire Ruff, what exactly will be the difference? Gorton is as much of a blame as AV is for this mess.

I'm thinking we have to give this team a chance with a coaching change. Obviously the forward corps is lacking at this point in time but there's no reason for the team to struggle with things like zone exits, entries, creating offensive zone time. They aren't that bad. And maybe change to zone defense
