Dallas, Texas. (AP) - Last night the new look Dallas Start took to the ice and answered a number of doubters about how well this team could play together with a 5-1 drubbing of the Calgary Flames.

The Stars came out of the gate a little slow, but once they got a goal past Gerber at the 15 minute mark of the 1st period, they were firing on all cylinders last night and the new first line of Yashin, Saku Koivu and Michel Ouelette imposed their offensive powers on the Flames defence by wrapping the game up with a three goal flurry by the time the 2nd period was three-quarters over.

Rookie Michel Ouellet potted his first hat trick in his first NHL game and Saku Koivu helped set up all three goals for the rookie in his first game for his new team which he signed with during the off season.

Enigmatic Yashin even got intot he spirit of things as well after being moved over to the Left Wing to play along side Koivu. Hopefully he can re-discover his will to play which playing along side of the heart and soul type which Koivu is.
