"They were never the same team ... after their entire team was moved to Syracuse."

Very true, but the collapse in fan support is not surprising given the events of the past several years.

Ironically, the days since the Nashville debacle have actually brought some positive developments. The team has won both games since the split, a resumption of broadcast coverage of both home and away games is planned, and the team is offering some attractive promotions for home games next weekend.

So, in your opinion, have those positives been solely a result of canceling the affiliation? The influx of new players to this past week's roster could explain the wins, but were the broadcast & promotions changes a direct benefit of more freedom and/or more resources previously dedicated to supporting the affiliation? Seems to me these changes could just as likely be signs of desperation by the Norfolk owner to salvage the season, perhaps based on the League offices coaching the Admirals front office on better business practices. Either way, they bode well for Norfolk hockey fans during 2017-18 but they make the future of the team no more certain.

Not only did we move from AHL to ECHL we are over 20% more for tickets. Plus they reduced the STH benefits. Big one is allowing unused tickets to be vouchers for future games. This year they are limited to weekday and Friday games. Can't not be used on Saturdays.
One of the new ideas that i hate is no STH ticket booklet. Admirals when a membership card that gets scanned.

ECHL should not be charging more than the AHL, especially when there was no "off time" like say Worcester had. The drop in play is noticeable as both the Ads and Manchester found out.
