Instead of comparing Crosby and Ovechkin, who are two years apart, how about Rick Nash and Alexander Ovechkin.

Who is the better player now and who will be the better player in the future?

Which guy would you build your team around if you had to choose one?

I dislike this kind of comparison because it's unfair for both player..

But

SHORTERM--- RICK NASH, no question about that
LONGTERM--- WELL Ovechkin is not yet an NHLer, Nash lead the NHL in scoring but he still a junior... We don't know his upside (Bertuzzi, Thornton, Guerin... more....)..

But cause of his hype, I will say Ovechkin.. But Nash can be just as good, if not better than him...

Nash is producing way better than EXPECTED.. He is producing like Kovalchuk did last year at the same age.... And Nash is also very strong....

So, I will say Ovechkin. But I'm really impresses by Nash.....

Ughh, you might want to look at some assist totals.

As for the question at hand, until Ovechkin sees some NHL ice time, Rick Nash, no question.

Hum... It's really not what I wanted to write...

Kovalchuk score 18 goals. Is in the top 5 all year in points.... I don't know why I wrote that. I trying to remind what I tougth when I wrote that...

Sorry...

Nash is leading the league in scoring right now, but I don't think he can continue to do this for the rest of his career. He is a great scorer, but not a 50 goals scorer :dunno: . In this side I prefer Ovechkin who may be a future Maurice "Rocket" Richard trophy specialist :yo: .

I watched Nash for two years in junior in London, and believe me, he's one heck of a playmaker. He's fantastic behind the net, in his second year Corey Perry would stand in front of the net, Nash would get him the puck, and they'd score. I've only seen Ovechkin a few times... but I watched Nash dominate for two years and I'd take him over just about anyone.

Your russian bias is painfully evident here. It's ok if you prefer Ovechkin (although I think he is the most overhyped player in a loooong time) but when you knock Nash undeservedly, that doesn't really help drive your point home.

You're talking down Nash but his accomplishments are undeniable so far and are not due to luck if you've watched him. He's playing like a rugged veteran and his goals totals are only ONE indicator of the talent he displays.

Playmaker??? I don't think so.. Goalscorer? Yes!

Uh, you might want to look at the guys each plays with. Clearly Kovy's linemates were more talented and could score more easily.
