I do not think the Red Wings trade down. With 4 of the top 36 picks, They could move up if anything.

I think we are more likely to trade the pick for more assets and move down, or for an NHL player, than we are to just pick Zadina over Svechnikov. I think our owner is trying to play moneyball in a hockey setting.

I agree that Miller is a reach but I love Farabee. If Snow wants Miller I think he can trade his seconds to jump into late first and get Miller.

How I do it is I think about what the team needs and how the general manager thinks through past drafting history.
