Anniversary of the planet crash:

The day the music died. I saw the Buddy Holly Musical when it was in Raleigh last year and it was quite good. What was interesting, and what I forgot), was that Waylon Jennings was supposed to be on that plane, but gave up his seat to the Big Bopper because the Big Bopper was sick. And Buddy Holly's guitarist was supposed to be on the plane but lost his seat in a coin toss to Valens.

Also, the way the musical played it, Holly's wife, who was pregnant at that time pleaded with him to not get on the plane that night, but he did anyhow. She miscarried a short time later. Tragic.

Holly was on his way to being a bigger star than Elvis by some accounts. Crazy to think what potential classic tunes we missed out on due to that plane crash.

The only remaining lead singer of the big 5 Seattle grunge bands still alive is Eddie Vedder. Somebody wrap him up in bubble wrap or something - just make sure he can breathe.

This song was on while I was at lunch today. Hadn't heard it in about 15 years, one of those songs I can remember hearing on the radio in my moms car as a young child. 25 years ago it was Billboards #1 song.
