Greg Moore, F
Senior – University of Maine
NHL Rights: New York Rangers

University of Maine senior and team captain Greg Moore had the opportunity last summer to sign with the New York Rangers but opted to return to Orono to finish out a superb collegiate career instead. His quiet leadership and exceptional work ethic are two characteristics that have made him a valuable commodity in the Black Bears arsenal this season, helping to propel Maine to another likely NCAA Tournament bid.

Moore currently leads the Black Bears in scoring with 42 points (26 goals, 16 assists). He also leads the team in several other categories, including goals (26), power play goals (12), game-winning goals (4) and shots (148). His 26 goals along with his 0.68 goals per game average both rank sixth in the nation. As Maine’s current “iron manâ€, Moore has played in 102 consecutive games going into the Hockey East semi-finals this weekend.

Back on Mar. 10 versus UMass-Lowell, Moore became the 45th player in the history of the Black Bears program to reach the 100-point career mark.

The Lisbon, Maine native was recently selected to the Hockey East All-Conference First Team, the first in his career, and was the runner-up to Boston University’s Brad Zancanaro for the conference’s Best Defensive Forward award. Moore has also been named a finalist for the Walter Brown Award.
