Caufield, Guhle, Danault
for
Byram, Jost, Barron, Kaut

Montreal gets their future #1 LHD in Byram

Colorado trades away their D depth for offensive and gets a more defensive minded D in Guhle.

Habs have no interest in this trade.

Caufield and Guhle are both studs, and Danault would fetch a 1st + B prospect on his own at the TDL if Habs are out of the playoff spot.

Montreal, outside of 3 or 4 players, can't score goals...Caufield scores goals...Caufield is also Montreal's most highly-touted prospect since Price...Bergevin would be flayed alive for trading Caufield, even if the trade was a "fair deal" kinda trade...

Gonna throw this out there but I don't think either team makes this trade.

The Avalanche intend on making a run this year and Byram for two next year prospects hinders that.

At this moment, Danault is the best player in this deal (might not be for too long) and Caufield is jumping straight to the NHL in a couple of weeks

Montreal
Montreal already have their future #1 LHD in Romanov.

I love Romanov but highly doubt he is a future N1, he does not have the offensive skills in my opinion.

Getting our hands on Byram would be huge, but not at the expense of Caufield, Danault and Guhle

If Colorado is interested in Danault, I can't see them making a deal so convoluted, and there's zero chance Byram would be included, even if Caufield were included for some reason.
