Can't argue history.
If Bettman was smart, he'd palm their ball and make sure it's out of the top-10
You make it sound like that's a bad thing.
Haha, true enough. There are only 4 winning teams each year, if you think about it. The Cup and the first 3 picks in the draft.
What is the record number of different teams that a player has played for during one NHL season?
Yet somehow Bill Daly reveals the oilers logo as the winner of the #1 pick.
I'd much, much rather give Fucale a chance than a guy who's been waived twice one month into the season. I give Niemi a week and he'll be back on waivers again. For Christ's sake MB.
I hope he Plays vs. Tampa. It would be his third time this year with 3 different teams.
It definitely wont happen, simply because Montreal isn't bad enough to get that lucky, but if this season ends with:
1) Dahlin; and/or
2) a better GM.
Most Habs fans will be pretty damn happy.
It literally means Montoya's injury is a long-term and this is their way of just making sure someone like Fucale, and even Lindgren (who can simply be a paper transaction considering how close MTL-Laval are) aren't sitting too long on the bench and not developing when Price comes back.
Has similar stats with Price, and a cup, so definitely an upgrade.
Neither is going to happen though Montreal make the playoffs which means Bergevin doesn't get doesn't get fired . If it happens that way I guess there's going to be a lot of unhappy fans ??
For those interested, this cost Montreal $7,500, paid to Florida and not counted against the cap.
Niemi is on his farewell tour. 30 teams. One man. One season. Coming soon to a team near you.
A fun fact: Montreal is Niemi's sixth NHL team. Among actives, him and Chad Johnson have represented the most clubs during their careers.
Don't be so modest, I think he is going for the full 31
edit. If HockeyDB is right, the record for most teams for one player during one season is 4. We believe in you Antti, those are rookie numbers.
NHL Players on the most teams in a season at hockeydb.com
That is complete nonsense. Only one team has a winning season.
Niemi is going for the Jagr - gotta play in Canada for the retirement year after an entire career in the US.
In case he wants to go for the NHL record of most teams played in a single season, there's still time to visit Vegas and Arizona
It's as if Montreal fans are reliving the nightmarish era of the late-90s Habs all over again.
Dear sweet holy mother of God, why?
The best post in this silly thread.
Bergevin has to know he's on the way out and is just living out some sadistic fantasy at this point
He really is pulling off his best impression of Rejean Houle.
He''l be fine playing behind that solid Canadiens defence.
Dahlin is as good as a Hab!! !!!
I don't know where this misunderstanding originated. Have seen it repeated a few times on the forums recently.
There is no restriction on when Niemi could be waived again or requirement he spends any # of days on the Montreal roster. Montreal could waive him tomorrow if they wanted to.
