Does this mean Darian Durant is out? I remember hearing the Als need to make a choice with him because he recieves a sizeable payout soon.

I heard they're trying to re-negotiate his contract. Likely they'll just release him.
Looking forward to seeing what this guy can do.

A few news items that date back a few weeks as the Als have made a few acquisitions along the way, particularly with free agency open now.

Agreed but I just find the idea of Calvillo in Toronto weird. Also, the Argos basically have every former Als staff working for them now lol

It's tough to see Toronto doing good with what was essentially the staff of the Als heyday. Adds some salt to the wound.

Sucks that he's going to the Argos but I don't think he is a great coach. He was an amazing QB but sometimes great players don't make great coaches, i.e. Wayne Gretzky.

Agreed but he was thrown in the lion's den way too quickly. He never was able to learn his job properly.

In my opinion Geoff Molson really needs to go but then again so do the Wettenhalls. They are driving the franchise straight to a Relocation.

Yesterday, Als traded with the Tiger-Cats. In the trade Als traded their 1st overall selection for Hamilton's 2nd overall. A bunch of other picks were exchanged, but in the deal, Als picked up Ryan Bomben and Jamal Robinson.

And with their 2nd overall pick, the Als selected Offensive Lineman Trey Rutherford:

And here is Kavis Reed on the pick:

And Alfieri reported that even if they traded the 1st OV for the 2nd OV, Als still selected the guy at the top of their list:

I don't know jackshit about the CFL, but seems like a great move by Reed. He knew for sure he was picking his guy, you don't make that trade if you don't know who you're picking.

I don't either. Last season was the first one I actually followed. But I won't pretend to know who these guys are and what always happens.

This is why I simply post news and don't offer any takes.

Didn't they also get from the TC's the negotiating rights for a top rated US QB who's name escapes me at the moment.
