Sportscentre in Canada is fun when the Leafs lose a few...panic! So now Bozak and Marner are on the 4th line. Is it really a 4th line when you have those 2 there? Martin is the other winger.

Marner is lacking everything but skating right now. My bigger brother LOl is a leafs fan and he can't stand Marner and hopes he would be part of a Doughty trade. Can't just skate around and get bumped off pucks and not compete back. Lots of Flyers forwards do that right now.

We missed on Martin by 500 grand a year but he is so much a better role player than Weise and f***in Lethera and stands up for his younger teammates.

9. One situation to keep an eye on: Florida and Alex Petrovic. Injuries limited him to 49 games last season, but when he dressed he played 18:09 per night. Under new coach Bob Boughner, Petrovic’s usage is down. He’s had three healthy scratches. The third one came Monday against Tampa Bay after Petrovic was benched for the third period of last Saturday’s overtime loss to Detroit. He’s also gone from 1:18 per night on the penalty kill to under 30 seconds.

These things can change, but defencemen are hard to find and other teams will be watching. Petrovic has one more year until unrestricted free agency.

So they paid Vegas Marchessault so that they would take Reilly Smith, allowing them to protect all of their precious defensemen; and now this.

Lmao.

Reilly and Marchessault are doing well too. 9 points in 11 games; 4 points in 6 games respectively. Some of the best advanced stats on Vegas too. I cannot remotely imagine the Panthers are not a better team with those two. Bjugstad, who they also protected over those two bad contract and all, has had a good bounce back start though. Long-term he could be Humpty Dumpty still.

Petrovic is 9 percent worse in expected goals for % than the rest of Florida's defense, so there's something up there. He's been respectable the last couple years, so this isn't the normal for him, but something is up, and yes, it looks to be another questionable decision for their front office. But he's not getting outscored on the ice, and usually that's where coaches draw lines (compared to Pysyk and Matheson). Most of his poor stats seem to be when paired with Matheson, who hasn't been good this year himself (8 year deal!). Apart from him, in the small sample of a handful of games, he's done fine, albeit in lower usage.

Maybe they'll swap Petro for Gudbranson!

Shipachyov has to pay back all but $86K of his $2M signing bonus. Vegas wants assurance from him that he’ll go back to the KHL & won’t just re-sign with another NHL team after they terminate his contract.

Hopefully he didn't blow it on the Strip.

Can they do that?

Nothing legally but i guess they want a handshake type of ordeal on it. The majority of GM’s in this league are p***y’s though so not really sure they would have to really worry about Shipachyov signing elsewhere in the NHL. Shipachyov would probably be taking a hit in coin this year too if he signed elsewhere opposed to the KHL. As he’s already in the hole with the money he has to pay back on the signing bonus.

Would like to point out that Hemingway wrote in simple prose -- or more accurately, macho grunts -- Braden Holtby, so actually you probably do speak like Hemingway. Should've said Faulkner or Joyce.

That is all.

I know you have been wondering about this, so I will put your mind at ease: Hemingway is on the list. Way, way up near the top. Just below the Steelers and the Bon Jovis and that guy named Mike. Way up there.
