So we get a bad haircut, they get no hair. Seems about right.

Seriously, should've kept Addison if we were going to do this. Maybe the Wild are worried that they are going to have to pay Faber too much money if he keeps piling up points on the PP?

It's definitely kind of funny to have to go out and make a deal like this for a warm body on defence, who just happens to be a PP Specialist who is useless at everything else. After jettisoning Addison earlier. But obviously circumstances have evolved with injuries to key guys since then.

And it's not like they're giving up anything of any value for Butcher. Cajkovic is what...basically just a contract slot that is being used? Not that Minny got anything noteworthy for Addison either, but they still probably kind of come out ahead at the margins with the draft pick.

Guessing he'll be an injury callup, and that Bill Guerin is hopeful that forcing one of the prospects off the Iowa blueline helps fix it. From all reports, they've been a real clusterF down there.

Do people really not know who Will Butcher is?

The guy had a 44 point season, as a rookie defenseman, that's not nothing.

He’s also an AHL player now and that was seven years ago, I don’t think it’s unreasonable that newer fans haven’t heard of him.

Uh, this is an AHL move. Will Butcher should absolutely not be sniffing a NHL roster at this point.

If so, it's weird, because the Wild have a ton of young D prospects in Iowa, and getting Butcher would only block some of them from TOI. Also, Butcher's best NHL years, by a long shot, were all under Hynes in NJ.
