Bruins fan here. Just checking in with my favorite x-Bruin.

I would gladly take him back on the B's. I am sick of our forwards getting pushed around. The Bruins made a huge mistake in not signing Looch to 6 Million. I know he is off some games but he can be (and often was in Boston) a game changer.

He is a leader . He was also a fan favorite in Boston. You still see many #17 Looch jerseys at the games ( I have ST and go to almost all of the home games).

I miss the big guy...sigh.

I am cheering on your team in the West.

Good luck the rest of the season.

Lucic has been a fantastic addition to this team in every respect despite what his detractors say. I have my #27 Looch jersey and a STH here as well!

Lucic has been the best I've seen him as an Oiler these past few weeks. I think Stauffer tweeted he has 13 points in his last 14 GP. We need more of the Lucic from that Nashville comeback game last year (huge hit on Watson then tied the game up)

I just turned 65 :amazed:. I sit right on the tunnel where the B's come on to the ice (next to the backup goalie/ second row from the ice). I always high five the B's as they come out. Looch would ALWAYS reach around and high five me.

He was very nice to the old lady next to the bench (maybe I look like his Grandmother :biglaugh:). Even on this latest trip he made eye contact and gave me a nice nod and smile. He is very fan friendly. He hated matt cooke so that was a plus for me as well.

I know some of the guys who work behind the B's bench and they all like him. When he left Boston he took out a full page ad in the Boston Globe thanking the fans for their support. He seems like a great guy off the ice too.

I hope he works out well there...or if you want to send him back to the B's that would be OK too .

I try to go to one away B's game . Edmonton is on the list of cities I want to visit.

I am not a Lucic fan, but he has been performing better and getting his points. He still is slow and has slower reactions that most. His forte is his strength and ability to block the goalie and tie up defenders in the blue area.

Looch is indeed playing very well and I need to honestly appraise that he is doing that during a stretch wherein that is most needed. This season could have been done by now and if ever you needed the big guy to show up and make a difference that has been happening now. This is different, this season, than last season in terms of him bringing better EV play. Last season he was more of a PP specialist. This season he's upped his game and more ready to be playing with McD.

In fairness its a lot harder to play well with somebody like McD. People think its easy when you got a guy like that making picture perfect plays and passes. But as Eberle noted each time McD does that and you don't deliver you feel like you are screwing up. In a lot of players case they start to get frustrated, get away from their game etc.

I rewatched part of the game and Looch had some problems in first half of the game. Plays not going right, some giveaways, a post, a miss, but he never let that frustrate him. He just kept barrelling the whole game until the results came. THAT was the difference.

...Edmonton is on the list of cities I want to visit.

Great stories to hear! Everything I hear about him in the room and away from the rink is like that, a stand up person who is an exemplary leader and good guy.

I am trying to get to all the rinks as well, seen a few this year, Boston is high on the list! If you ever get to Edmonton let me know, will get you some good seats!

Thanks !! My daughter (who used to sit with me in Boston) moved to California 10 years ago and goes to see San Jose play ...but the B's are still her #1. She flys home often .

We meet up somewhere once a year to see our B's play and to visit other cities. This year we went to Vegas (not a place I ever wanted to go) and saw our boys lose. Toronto was a very nice city and they have the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Let me know if you come to Boston .

I live in New Hampshire but go to most (if not all) of the home games in Boston.

heh, welcome to our board here, drop by any time, we ALL hated Matt Cooke. ;)

If you ever come this way to Edmonton, which is increasingly a nice place to visit, make sure you have some time to hit up Jasper National Park which is our closest Mountain park. Via Rail runs a train out there 3 times a week and reasonably priced with regular seat sales. Its comfortable, scenic, and beautiful view of the mountains anytime of year. You could even take it all the way to Vancouver. With seat sales, sitting coach its 80 bucks Canadian to Jasper and only 160 to take it all the way to Vancouver. They have a dining car, viewing car, lounge, the whole thing. The ride all the way to Vancouver is a bucket list for many people. Jasper is a destination park people come from around the world to see. Lots of sightseeing tours and things to do and see out there.

Also just to be clear we don't much like the Vancouver Canucks here but Vancouver is still a nice place to visit and Lucic is from around there.

Drop me a line if you ever plan on making it out here and I would give you a lot of ideas on what to see.

The Jumbo Joe trade must be a real topic of discussion in your family. He's always been a favorite player of mine, another throwback type of player, like Lucic. Some of the players just seem to have a better understanding of pro sports being a gift in life and them trying to be a joy to their fans. The Oilers past guy like that was Ryan Smyth. Now its Connor McDavid, not that I'm comparing the two.

I hated the Joe trade. The STH were stunned.

I would love to see Big Joe lift the cup before he retires.

Conner is an exciting player to watch.

On pace for 20 goals and 59 points .......and I think he's just heating up.

Indeed. Considering the slow start he has a real chance of a career year.

Looch is another signing people give Chia crap for, but he's doing pretty well so far.

The best is when they claim he is overpaid by 1-2m, everyone’s issue should be length, not his cap hit currently

You are forgetting how other team suddenly shirk when they have the puck after a hard Lucic hit. I've noticed smaller teams stop trying to skate with the pucks along the boards and meekly tap it forward with their sticks. I'm loving how big bad physical our team is these days compared to 2008-2015 timeframe.

Looch had a decent game last night. His passes are solid.

Sooooooo close to hitting the top corner at the end of the game.

So since Christmas Lucic has in 12 games:

0 goals, 4 assists, -1, 10 PIM

It's been exactly 1 month since he scored a goal, and has just 9 on the season. For a guy getting paid 6 million a year that's pathetic and the game he had last night reminded me of the days of Gilbert Brule.

Guys is so inconsistent. When hes beasting hes a very impactful player. Problem is that hes only good for like 1 game out of 4.

I think the new NHL hasnt helped him either. Game is more focused on speed and skill. Theres less hitting and fighting than ever.

So therefore because he is slow and he doesnt have the hands, it hurts him. But also because theres less physically in the game, its much harder for him to get engaged in the game. I think opposing players have learned to just ignore him and he doesnt have the ability to get himself engaged in the games. Only 4 more years.

He's the exact same Looch as he has always been. For some reason people think his play is always like his highlight reals

Yeah I think he is. Opposing fan bases have said that hes inconsistent. You dont get Lucic the bear every game. But like I said the games changed and while hes more or less the same player, hes less effective now.

He's not quick on his feet or in his mind. He must've turned the puck over at least 4 times in the first period alone.

Five, actually.

That deal is going to mean other younger and more useful players get sent out the door over the next couple of years.

Every player in the league goes through cold stretches of the season. Eberle did it all the time, our 30th place savior Hall did it all the time to.

HFoil just have really short short memories, like cant remember yesterday.
