leaning between these two for my keeper league prospects draft.
Who do you think has the highest potential? highest points this year?

Also, some other guys I could pick and have been thinking about: Perezhogin, kastitsyn, shishkanov, upshall, higgins...almost anyone from the 2003 draft except for the top end guys

So who would you pick?

As all the Pens fans here I'd go with Michalek also.
However, you need to think it this way IMO.
Koltsov is a high risk high reward gamble.
He could develop into a Bure type of player, but he could also develop into an average fourth liner with speed.
Michalek on the other hand is a sure bet.
He should be no less than a second liner.

I also took Koltsov in my keeper league.
BTW, I also have Nash, Kovalchuk, Sejna, Spezza, Huselius, Leneveu, Pitkanen, etc... so I'm in a good shape for the future which means I could take the Koltsov gamble. If you don't want to gamble, choose Michalek.

Koltsov has shown zero ability as a goal scorer . There is absoloutly nothing in his background to suggest he will be a scorer in the NHL.
To suggest that there is a chance he could develop into another Bure is laughable. Thats like saying George Laraque may turn into Cam Neely.
Michalek.

He was one of the top scorers at the WJCs.
So what. Thats a 2 week tourney. He has not shown any ability in any league over the course of a season.

He also outscored Pavel Datsyuk, then teammate, in 00-01 (ppg-wise).

Ouch, you're right, by .01%. Point still stands, as Datsyuk is 3 years older.

Because he/she said Koltsov had shown "zero" ability, which I disagreed with.
