better forwards, better depth, better goaltending and flames have a better defence with better depth on the back end.

Ill take the leafs over the flames any day.

I disagree. If anything, they're on par. It's hard to rule in favour of Smith or Andersen, but both teams have had excellent goaltending this season.

so then the leafs defence is just as good as the Flames? Why is Freddy putting up such good numbers with a bad defence and smith comparable numbers with one of the best D cores in the league?
