It’s a nice gig to fall into after playing. I believe not retiring is just him keeping his options open if he decides to come back.

Which will probably be sometime after training camp since he’s probably over those lol.

Plus he knows the 49ers are always 1-2 plays away from needing another qb.

Cutler was basically retired before Miami called him due to an injury. Just a matter of who gets hurt and whether they are worth coming out of the job for.
